Dose
PO 50–150 mg BD; PIP 200–300 mg single dose. IV 2 mg/kg over 10 min.
Indications
- • Paroxysmal AF ('pill in pocket')
- • AVNRT
- • SVT prevention
Contraindications
- • Structural/ischaemic heart disease (CAST)
- • HFrEF
- • Sinus node dysfunction
Use
Rhythm control in structurally normal heart; co-prescribe AV nodal blocker.
Monitoring
ECG (QRS widening >25% → stop), U&E.
Side effects
- • Pro-arrhythmia
- • Visual disturbance
- • Dizziness
