Circulatory failure with tissue hypoperfusion.

Investigations

  • Bedside echo (RUSH/FALLS)
  • Lactate, ABG, CVP, ScvO2

Diagnosis

  • Hypovolaemic: haemorrhage, GI losses
  • Cardiogenic: LV/RV failure
  • Obstructive: PE, tamponade, tension pneumo
  • Distributive: septic, anaphylactic, neurogenic

Management

  • Fluids (30 mL/kg) except cardiogenic/obstructive
  • Vasopressor: norad first-line most types
  • Address cause (blood for haemorrhage, PCI for MI, antibiotics for sepsis)
