Risk factors
- • Age >65, male, smoking, HTN, FHx, atherosclerosis
- • Marfan/Ehlers-Danlos for TAA
Investigations
- • USS screening for AAA (men ≥65)
- • CT angio if >5 cm or symptoms
Management
- • Monitor: <5.5 cm asymptomatic — USS q6-12 months + risk factor mgmt
- • Repair: >5.5 cm, rapid growth (>0.5 cm/6 mo), symptomatic — EVAR or open
- • TAA: >5.5 cm ascending, >6 cm descending; earlier in Marfan
