Cardiology

Class III antiarrhythmic; broad spectrum.

Management

  • Arrest: 300 mg IV after 3rd shock, 150 mg after 5th
  • Stable VT: 300 mg IV over 20-60 min, then 900 mg/24 h
  • AF: 300 mg IV over 20-60 min then 900 mg/24 h
  • Oral load: 200 mg TDS × 1 wk, BD × 1 wk, then 100-200 mg OD

Complications

  • Pulmonary fibrosis, thyroid dysfunction (hypo or hyper), hepatitis, corneal deposits, skin discoloration
