Pneumothorax (eFAST)

  • Absence of pleural sliding
  • Lung point sign

Interpretation tips

  • Operator dependent — repeat if clinical concern persists
  • Sensitivity ~60-80% in blunt trauma

Clinical correlation

  • Unstable + positive FAST → laparotomy
  • Stable + positive FAST → CT for grading

Common mistakes

  • Missing isolated retroperitoneal injury
  • False positive from ascites
