Sucralfate
Dose
1 g PO QDS on empty stomach (1 h before meals and at bedtime).
Use
Mucosal protection in ulcers, bile reflux gastritis, radiation proctitis.
Monitoring
Separate other drugs by ≥2 h (chelation), aluminium accumulation in CKD.
Side effects
- • Constipation
- • Reduced absorption of quinolones, levothyroxine, phenytoin
