Dose
0.2 mg/kg IV over 30 min OD for up to 7 days.
Contraindications
- • G6PD deficiency
Use
Prevention and treatment of tumour lysis syndrome in high-risk haematological malignancy.
Monitoring
Urate on ice-chilled samples, potassium, phosphate, calcium, creatinine 6-hourly.
Side effects
- • Haemolysis in G6PD deficiency
- • Methaemoglobinaemia
- • Anaphylaxis
