Prasugrel

Dose

Load 60 mg PO, then 10 mg OD (5 mg if <60 kg or ≥75 y).

Indications

  • ACS undergoing PCI

Contraindications

  • Prior stroke/TIA
  • Age ≥75 (relative)
  • Weight <60 kg (relative)
  • Active bleeding

Use

Preferred over clopidogrel in STEMI-PCI in young patients.

Monitoring

Bleeding.

Side effects

  • Bleeding (higher than clopidogrel)
