2.5–5 mg OD; max 10 mg.
Mechanism
β₁ blockade + endothelial NO release → vasodilation.
Indications
- • Hypertension
- • HFrEF in elderly (SENIORS)
Dose adjustment
CrCl <30 or hepatic impairment: start 2.5 mg
Use
Well-tolerated β-blocker (fewer metabolic effects).
Monitoring
BP, HR, LFTs.
Side effects
- • Headache
- • Fatigue
- • Bradycardia
- • Peripheral oedema
