Dose
15 mg PO nocte; increase to 30–45 mg nocte after 2 weeks.
Use
Depression with insomnia, poor appetite or weight loss; useful in palliative care.
Monitoring
Weight, sedation, FBC if fever/sore throat (rare agranulocytosis).
Side effects

- • Dry mouth
- • Restless legs
