Infliximab
Dose
5 mg/kg IV at 0, 2 and 6 weeks then 8-weekly; escalate to 10 mg/kg or 4-weekly if loss of response.
Use
Moderate-severe Crohn's/UC, acute severe UC rescue, RA, ankylosing spondylitis.
Monitoring
Screen TB (IGRA + CXR), HBV/HCV/HIV before start; drug levels and antibodies if failing.
Side effects
- • Infusion reaction
- • Reactivation TB / hepatitis B
- • Serious infection
- • Drug-induced lupus
