Dose
150 mL IV over 10 min (acute symptomatic hyponatraemia) — repeat ×2 if needed
Use
Acute symptomatic hyponatraemia, raised ICP.
Monitoring
Na⁺ q2h (rise <10 mmol/L/24 h), neurological status.
Side effects
- • Osmotic demyelination if over-rapid
- • Volume overload
