Hydroxocobalamin
Dose
5 g IV over 15 min; repeat 5 g if needed.
Indications
- • Cyanide poisoning (smoke inhalation, nitroprusside toxicity)
Use
First-line antidote in suspected cyanide toxicity from smoke inhalation.
Monitoring
BP, urine (red discoloration), interference with lab colorimetric assays.
Side effects
- • Red urine/skin
- • Hypertension
- • Anaphylaxis
