Filgrastim (G-CSF)
Dose
5 mcg/kg SC OD starting 24–72 h after chemotherapy until neutrophil recovery.
Use
Prophylaxis/treatment of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia; stem cell mobilisation.
Monitoring
FBC twice weekly, splenic size if prolonged use.
Side effects
- • Bone pain
- • Splenic enlargement/rupture (rare)
- • Capillary leak syndrome
