Calcitriol
Dose
0.25 mcg PO OD, titrate by PTH and calcium (usual 0.25–1 mcg/day).
Use
CKD-mineral bone disorder and hypoparathyroidism.
Monitoring
Calcium, phosphate and PTH every 1–3 months.
Side effects
- • Hypercalcaemia
- • Hyperphosphataemia
- • Vascular calcification
