Cabergoline
Dose
0.25 mg twice weekly; titrate monthly to prolactin response (usual 0.5–1 mg twice weekly).
Use
Prolactinoma and hyperprolactinaemia.
Monitoring
Prolactin, visual fields if macroadenoma, echocardiogram if high cumulative dose.
Side effects
- • Nausea
- • Postural hypotension
- • Impulse-control disorder
- • Cardiac valvulopathy (high dose)
